Deck Addition - Lukes - May 2004
This project involves an extension to
the existing deck in order to give direct access from the driveway. The deck will be extended to the retaining wall in the
foreground of the "before" photo. It will also be widened to the approximate width of the retaining wall. With children
playing in the driveway area, the 6-8' drop off the retaining wall is potentially hazardous. Continuous steps (approx
15' wide) will be built to grade, thus eliminating the hazard of falling off the back side of the retaining wall. These
large steps will also provide a "bleacher" type seating area for the children to "hang out" on while playing in
the driveway.
